Our Toronto based client is seeking for an experienced SAP Transportation Management Consultant (TM) to join their project immediately, and will run until March 2026, with possibility of an extension. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of hands-on SAP TM experience and a proven record in full-lifecycle S/4HANA greenfield implementations for large-scale projects, plus industry-specific transportation knowledge and familiarity with other SAP modules. This will be hybrid role, requiring three days of on-site work per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tailoring the core TM engine (e.g., defining planning profiles, scheduling conditions, freight cost calculation schemas).
- Creating and managing the foundational data TM relies on (e.g., Shipping Points, Plants, Transportation Zones, Locations (BP), Products, Carrier Master Data).
- Automating decision-making by setting up rules for carrier selection, route determination, and tendering.
- Ensuring seamless data flow with the core ERP for activities like Order-to-Cash and Procure-to-Pay (e.g., sales orders and purchase orders becoming freight documents in TM).
- Connecting with SAP Ariba for collaborative freight procurement and carrier contract management.
- Aligning transportation plans with the overall supply chain plan from SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP).
- Planning and defining how existing legacy data (carriers, routes, contracts) will be cleansed, transformed, and loaded into the new SAP TM system.
- Mapping out how freight orders are created, planned (manually or automatically via the TM Optimizer), and tendered to carriers.
- Designing the process for calculating freight charges, auditing carrier invoices, and passing the costs to Finance for payment (integration with FI/CO).
- Defining how carriers are onboarded, rated, and performance-managed within the system.
- Testing individual configuration elements in isolation.
- Testing the flow of data and processes between TM and other modules.
- Assisting the business end-users in testing the system to ensure it meets their requirements and is ready for go-live.
