Our Toronto based client is seeking an Oracle Data Conversion Lead contractor to join their project immediately and will run for 18 months with possibility for extension. This will be a hybrid work setting with some on-site work required at the client offices with some travel to USA locations needed.

• The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in data conversion, validation, and migration tools, with a deep understanding of ETL processes and Oracle CCB projects.
• Proven experience leading data conversion/migration projects, specifically for Oracle CCB implementations (mandatory).
• Strong expertise in data validation processes and ETL methodologies.
• Develop Data Conversion Strategy: Design and create a comprehensive strategy for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) to move data from legacy systems into Oracle CCB.
• Define Scope: Identify the data that needs to be converted (e.g., master data, transactional data, historical data) and the rules for conversion.
• Data Mapping: Work with business analysts, subject matter experts (SMEs), and ERP vendors to define the data mapping between legacy systems and Oracle CCB
• Data Conversion Planning: Create a detailed plan for the data conversion process, including timelines, milestones, and resource requirements.
• Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with other departments (e.g., IT, business operations, ERP functional teams) to ensure understanding of business requirements and data needs.
• Coordinate Data Collection: Ensure data collection from the various business units or legacy systems is completed on time, with the required quality.
• Lead Data Conversion Team: Manage a team of data migration experts, ETL developers, and data analysts, ensuring alignment with project timelines and objectives.
• Post-Conversion Evaluation: After the migration is complete, assess the effectiveness of the data conversion process, documenting lessons learned for future projects.
• Process Optimization: Continuously improve data conversion processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and the overall quality of data migration efforts for future ERP projects.
• Data Quality and Integrity :Ensure Data Accuracy: Oversee the process of data extraction and transformation, ensuring data is accurate, complete, and meets the business requirements.
• Data Cleansing: Lead the efforts in identifying and cleaning up data discrepancies, inconsistencies, duplicates, or outdated information before migrating to Oracle CC .Data Validation: Conduct data validation checks to ensure that data has been correctly converted, mapped, and is consistent with business rules.
• Perform Data Reconciliation: Ensure that data in the ERP system matches the legacy system post-conversion and resolve any discrepancies.
• Oversee ETL Process: Manage the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data into the new ERP system. Ensure that the process is done efficiently and that data is migrated in stages as needed.Define
• Transformation Rules: Work with business and technical teams to define transformation logic for different data types (e.g., currency conversion, unit of measure changes).Automate Data Conversion: Where possible, automate the conversion process using ETL tools to ensure speed and accuracy. 
• Data Conversion Testing: Develop and oversee data testing plans to validate that the converted data works properly within the ERP system.
• Unit Testing: Ensure that individual data sets and reports are correct after migration
• Integration Testing: Test the integration of converted data with the ERP system and other business applications.
• UAT Support: Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by ensuring the business users verify the accuracy and completeness of the converted data.
• Monitor Conversion Progress: Continuously monitor the progress of data conversion activities to ensure deadlines are met and resolve issues that arise during the process.
• Provide Regular Reports: Update stakeholders on the status of data conversion, including any challenges, risks, and corrective actions taken.
• Post-Conversion Monitoring: After data migration, monitor the system for data-related issues and ensure that the business users are not experiencing any data problems.
• Select Data Conversion Tools: Choose appropriate tools and technologies to support the data migration effort, including ETL tools, data validation tools, and conversion scripts.
• Maintain Tools: Oversee the setup, configuration, and maintenance of the tools used for data conversion.
• Document the Data Conversion Process: Ensure thorough documentation of the data conversion process, including mapping documents, transformation rules, and testing procedures.
• Create User Guides: Develop training materials or guides for business users on how to validate and use the converted data within the new ERP system.
• Post-Conversion Knowledge Transfer: Facilitate knowledge transfer to support teams, ensuring they understand the data conversion process and how to troubleshoot potential data issues.
• Identify Risks: Identify potential risks related to data conversion (e.g., data loss, corruption, misalignment) and develop strategies to mitigate those risks.
• Resolve Issues: Proactively resolve any issues that arise during the data conversion process, ensuring minimal impact on the project's timeline and quality.
