Our Manitoba based client is seeking an experienced SAP BASIS Manager to join their team on a full time permanent basis. The ideal candidate should have 7+ years of experience, including hands-on work with RISE with SAP and GROW including project implementation experience installations, system upgrades, OS/DB migrations, add-on deployments, system renames, dual-stack splits, kernel upgrades, host agent installation and upgrades, client copy procedures, and other related system maintenance activities. This position is primarily remote; however, candidates must be willing to travel 30–50% of the time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the full lifecycle installation, configuration, administration, and support of SAP solutions, including S/4HANA, ERP 6.0 EHP, PI/PO, BW/BW4HANA, BPC, NetWeaver Fiori/Gateway (Embedded and Distributed), Solution Manager, Web Dispatcher, Business Objects Platform (BI and Data Services), and Lumira.
- Deliver strategic recommendations and technical guidance for the tuning, optimization, and performance enhancement of complex SAP landscapes.
- 2+ years of Project lead experience that includes at least 1 full S/4HANA project life-cycle in a lead role preferred.
- Wide Experience in SAP HANA Database Administration, SAP S4HANA/NW/ERP versions starting from NW 7.0 and ECC 4.6.
- Oversee multiple BASIS initiatives simultaneously, managing project timelines, resource allocation, and deliverable quality to ensure on-time, accurate completion.
- Architect, deploy, administer, and proactively monitor HANA, MaxDB, Sybase ASE, SQLAnywhere, and MS SQL databases to ensure high availability and performance.
- Execute and oversee SAP system and client refresh strategies, ensuring seamless data migration and system consistency across environments.
- Manage end-to-end administration of SAP clients, transport requests, user authorizations, role definitions, and Gateway services.
- Perform daily system health monitoring across a 3-tier SAP landscape, ensuring stability across ABAP, Java, and integrated third-party systems.
- Implement and maintain Solution Manager core functions, including Managed System Configuration, EWA, Technical Monitoring, CTS+, BPMon, Solution Desk, and ChaRM to streamline operations.
- Plan, schedule, and deploy ABAP-based support pack stacks, system upgrades, and language installations with minimal downtime.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including architectural standards, operational runbooks, system diagrams, and monitoring infrastructure guides.
- Conduct targeted knowledge transfer sessions tailored to technical teams, project stakeholders, and executive audiences.
- Champion internal knowledge-sharing initiatives, fostering a collaborative environment and upskilling fellow consultants on emerging technologies.
- Mentor, guide, and provide escalation support to junior SAP Basis and Technology Architecture team members, ensuring best practices are consistently applied.
