SAP Production Planning (PP) Functional Consultant

Job Description

Our client is seeking for an experienced SAP Production Planning (PP) Functional Consultant to join their project in January 2025 and will run for a 6 months, with possibility of an extension. The ideal candidate will have 5 + years of experience in implementing and supporting SAP PP environments and will be responsible for implementing, configuring, and supporting the Production Planning (PP) module within SAP S/4HANA to ensure efficient manufacturing operations by aligning system functionality with business processes for production, capacity planning, and shop floor control. This will be a hybrid role with the exact of on-site scheduled days to be confirmed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Configure SAP PP module components including Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Work Centers, Routings, Production Versions, and BOMs (Bills of Material).
  • Integrate SAP PP with related modules such as MM (Materials Management), SD (Sales and Distribution), QM (Quality Management), and PM (Plant Maintenance).
  • Perform end-to-end implementation activities including requirement gathering, fit-gap analysis, design, testing, and go-live support.
  • Develop functional specifications for custom developments (RICEFW objects).
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand manufacturing processes and translate them into SAP solutions.
  • Conduct workshops to document and optimize business processes for discrete, repetitive, or process manufacturing environments.
  • Recommend best practices for production scheduling, capacity planning, and order management.
  • Provide day-to-day production support for SAP PP users.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to MRP runs, production orders, and master data inconsistencies.
  • Maintain system documentation and configuration guides.
  • Ensure seamless integration between PP and other functional modules and external systems (e.g., MES, APO/IBP).
  • Support master data management including BOMs, routings, work centers, and production versions.
  • Validate and support data migration during system upgrades or new implementations.
  • Prepare and execute test plans, unit tests, integration tests, and user acceptance tests (UAT).
  • Conduct end-user training sessions and develop training materials.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA PP or PP-PI preferred.
  • SAP certification in Production Planning is an asset.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field.

Additional Information

  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
