Job Description

Our Toronto/Montreal based client is looking for an SAP TM contractor to join their project immediately and will run until the middle of December 2025 with a potential for an extension. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in SAP TM with deep configuration skills and strong integration experience. This will be a hybrid work setting with some occasional travel to the clients office.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strong coding skills in ABAP OO.
  • Good understanding of end-to-end core business processes of SAP TM & integrations.
  • Good knowledge about SAP TM integration with ERP process areas such like Sales, Procurement and Returns for Shipper Scenario.
  • Experience in SAP TM basics: TM Org Business Units setup, Transportation Network Setup (Locations, Zones, Lanes, Default Routes etc), Resource Setup (Vehicle, Calendar) and DRF Framework (For Master Data Transfer)
  • Knowledge about the latest trends of SAP TM - Latest Version, Deployment Options, Licensing Options and functionalities introduced in the latest version
  • Define and maintain transportation contracts (e.g., carrier agreements, freight contracts, spot bids).
  • Set up contract types (e.g., master contracts, rate contracts, ad-hoc agreements).
  • Manage contract validity periods, business partners (shippers, carriers, LSPs), and service levels.
  • Define rate scales (weight, distance, zone-based pricing).
  • Set up discounts and surcharges based on business rules.
  • Ensure accurate freight cost calculation based on contract terms.
  • Handle freight invoicing (self-billing vs. carrier billing).
  • Support audit and dispute resolution for transportation charges.
  • Link with SAP ERP (FI/MM/SD) for financial settlement.
  • Connect with SAP Freight Collaboration (FCTR) for carrier collaboration.
  • Interface with SAP Event Management (EM) for real-time tracking and cost updates.
  • Ensure contracts comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Generate analytics & reports on freight spend, carrier performance, and contract utilization.
  • Support audit trails for contract changes.
  • Compare actual vs. contracted rates to identify savings.
  • Support tender management (RFQ, bid analysis, award decisions).
  • Enable dynamic pricing adjustments based on market conditions.
  • Train business users on contract setup and maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to rate calculations and contract discrepancies.
