Job Description

Our Toronto based client is seeking a SAP FI/CO/PS Consultant to join their organization immediately on a full time permanent basis. This will be a hybrid work model with potential minimal travel required to Germany. 

  • The SAP FI/CO/PS consultant is responsible for planning, project management, coordination and functional support of all GTS Canada domains.
  • The SAP primary areas of responsibility will be in the finance, controlling, project Systems, RAR, Concur, CATS modules.
  • This position includes leading and supporting both project and production support activities.
  • This SAP resource is the primary liaison between the Finance/Project Business teams and the Information System’s Business applications team.
  • The resource will engage with the Global GTS Applications team for support and development. Within IT this Position will have responsibilities to ensure IT financials are current and meet the needs for management reporting.
  • Support and enhance the entire SAP Finance portfolio.
  • The SAP areas of responsibility are but not limited to FI/CO, PS, RAR, Concur and Time modules.
  • The specialist in SAP FI/CO/PS will have oversight for the enhancement and maintenance of these functions in GTS Canada’s ERP footprint - SAP ECC EHP 8.
  • Support of Primavera integration with SAP, Concur integration with SAP and support Vertex or other Tax Solution with SAP.
  • Responsible for planning, directing and coordinating the efforts of both the project and functional/technical support activities.
  • The individual will be expected to act as Project Manager on projects/initiatives related to SAP or relevant applications through their entire lifecycle, including estimating resource requirements, RFP and SOW reviews, project activities and dependencies.
  • The individual will interact with internal team members, outsourced partners, including ABAP and Basis for issue escalation/resolution.
  • Engage with managed service partner’s delivery manager to ensure quality of service (QoS) for the Operations team.
  • Responsible for supervising system configuration in the FI/CO and related modules by any external service providers.
  • As required the individual will be expected to respond to Help Desk requests by reviewing and resolving assigned tickets based on priority in a reasonable time, aligning to SLAs and to provide a high level of customer service.
  • Interact with Business Analysts and customers to identify and document requirements that will be used to produce systems requirements documentation.
  • Transform business requirements into functional specifications and provide estimates to meet requirements.
  • The individual will have subject matter expertise, develop training materials and deliver training on the use of functionality in the Financial and Project Systems areas.
  • The individual will provide guidance on strategy relative to the Finance modules, e.g., what tools/business processes can be implemented at client in order to improve our efficiency/productivity and ensure that IS supports the growth of the business.
  • Manage testing of SAP solutions.
  • Participate and actively develop enhanced IT financial reporting.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years and preferably 10+ years’ experience as an SAP FICO/PS consultant.
  • Must be familiar with SAP ECC 6.0 functionality (EHP 6.0 minimum).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or Financial Management or related field/foreign equivalent required, Master’s Degree in Computer Science, related field or foreign equivalent highly desired.
  • Experience in supervising service delivery teams, on-shore-off-shore.
  • Strong business process knowledge in revenue recognition processes: RAR , Primavera.
  • Knowledge of Vertex or other Tax solutions that integrate to SAP.
  • Understand the integration points with Accounts Payable, Production Planning and Sales & Distribution and Material Management, including experience with vendor management.
  • Analytical ability to synthesis data and reporting on metrics.
  • Ability to assess the impact of new requirements on an existing suite of complex applications.
  • A working knowledge of Project Management. 3+ years as a project team leader or work package manager.
  • 4 full lifecycle implementation projects as a FI/CO/PS functional/configuration team member.
  • 2 full lifecycle upgrade projects as a FI/CO/PS functional /configuration team member.
  • Be able to independently solve complex functional issues in SAP.
  • Experienced with utilizing OSS and submitting support messages to SAP.
  • Experience with SAP Data Migration and Interfaces including LSMW, eCATT, SAP Query and other data management tools.
  • Background checks required for Controlled Goods and Reliability as clearance must be obtained.
