SAP Group Reporting CFIN Subject Matter Expert

Job Description

Our Toronto based client is looking for a SAP Group Reporting CFIN Subject Matter Expert contractor to join their project starting immediately and will run for 6 months. This will be primarily a remote work setting with some occasional travel required to the client site.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Solution Design & Architecture

    • Lead the design and implementation of SAP Group Reporting and Central Finance solutions aligned with business objectives and financial reporting requirements.

    • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, define, and validate business and technical requirements related to Group Reporting and CFIN.

    • Ensure integration between SAP S/4HANA CFIN and SAP Group Reporting components, including Master Data, Transactional Data, and Consolidation processes.

  2. Implementation & Configuration

    • Configure SAP Group Reporting and CFIN modules to support consolidation, financial planning, and external/internal reporting processes.

    • Lead mapping and replication of data from source systems (SAP and non-SAP) into the Central Finance landscape.

    • Manage data harmonization, financial consolidation, and elimination processes in SAP Group Reporting.

  3. Project Leadership & Delivery

    • Act as a functional lead for SAP Group Reporting and CFIN workstreams in transformation or deployment projects.

    • Define test strategies, lead testing cycles (unit, integration, UAT), and support defect resolution.

    • Ensure timely delivery of project milestones and compliance with best practices and governance standards.

  4. Stakeholder Collaboration

    • Act as the key liaison between finance stakeholders, IT teams, and implementation partners.

    • Provide expert guidance to business users on system capabilities, best practices, and process improvements.

    • Support change management and user training to ensure effective adoption of SAP Group Reporting and CFIN solutions.

  5. Support & Optimization

    • Provide ongoing support for Group Reporting and CFIN modules post-implementation, including issue resolution and enhancement requests.

    • Monitor system performance and data integrity across reporting hierarchies and CFIN interfaces.

    • Identify and implement continuous improvements to financial reporting and consolidation processes.

  6. Compliance & Controls

    • Ensure compliance with internal control requirements, including SOX and audit standards, within the CFIN and Group Reporting framework.

    • Support data reconciliation and audit trails across source systems and central finance.

  7. Documentation & Knowledge Sharing

    • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for configurations, processes, data flows, and integration mappings.

    • Conduct knowledge transfer sessions and mentor junior consultants or business users.
