Job Description

Our Toronto based client is seeking an experienced SAP HCM Payroll Consultant to join their organization on a full time permanent basis. This will be a hybrid work setting with the exact number of on-site and remote days to be confirmed.

  • The successful candidate will spearhead the migration to SuccessFactors, including Employee Central (EC) and Employee Central Payroll (ECP), while providing leadership in Canadian Payroll.
  • Lead the migration project to SuccessFactors, EC, and ECP, drawing from at least 1 full project experience in the last 3-5 years.
  • The ideal candidates will understand the current environment to help migrate to the new environment.
  • Provide expertise in Canadian Payroll, ensuring compliance and accuracy throughout the implementation process.
  • Manage a team of HCM and Payroll functional professionals, driving collaboration and excellence in project delivery.
  • Develop program roadmaps and annual work plans aligned with SAP Roadmap and Divisional Technology Roadmaps.
  • Plan, blueprint, implement, and sustain SAP and enterprise solutions for approved initiatives identified in the clients SAP Roadmap and Service Area Technology Roadmaps.
  • Previous experience in the public sector is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Act as a liaison between technology teams and business units.
  • Be the SAP techno-functional expert and lead for designing and implementing solutions in SAP FI including required integrations within SAP portfolio and other third-party applications/systems.
  • Provide functional guidance, coach and mentor SAP FI Functional Specialists in the team.
  • Lead, blueprint, design, configure, test and implement solutions for S/4 HANA Finance and related 3rd party solutions including Fiori apps.
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to conduct business process analysis, demos/prototypes, testing, system cutover, documentation, and training of system functionality. 
  • Analyze and document current state and future state business processes including assessing impact on existing solutions. 
  • Transform user requirements to program specifications and communicate effectively with functional specialists, developers, and business users throughout the process. 
  • Identify system/business impacts for implementation of new functionality and SAP FI Support Packs including developing robust regression test plans. 
  • Provide third-level support for troubleshooting and responding to support incidents.
  • Develop and implement change management strategies to enable corporate adoption of the new SAP solutions.
  • Provide input on emerging technologies and participate in development of technology plan and SAP FI roadmap for the client.
  • Lead Work Requests, upgrade, and minor SAP FI projects.
  • Contribute preliminary estimates of resource requirements and technology costs for development of business cases for major projects and work with stakeholders to build business cases. 
  • Maintain communication with user groups including leading user meetings to identify issues and opportunities for improvement. 
  • Comply with all Information Technology service levels, change and version control, systems development methodology, standards, policies, audit, and financial controls. 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • The role requires SuccessFactors experience as the transition is immediate from HCM to SuccessFactors. 
  • Post-secondary education in the field of Computer Science, Finance or in a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing and implementing SAP FI solutions.
  • SAP certification in FI/CO/PS is preferred. 
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in configuring, analyzing, and supporting SAP FI and related modules (CO, AP, AR, AA, PS). 
  • Extensive experience in mapping business processes and translating business requirements into design deliverables for implementing effective SAP FI solutions. 
  • Expertise in analyzing, troubleshooting, and sustainment of SAP FI solutions including providing third-level support and recommending process improvements. 
  • In depth knowledge of Finance policies, procedures, and administrative functions.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on customer service and ability to work with a diverse group of stakeholders and senior level management. 
  • Demonstrated organizational, analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of inform.
