Our Ontario based client is seeking an experienced SAP HCM Payroll Solution Architect to join their project immediately and will run for 1 year, with possibility of an extension. The ideal candidate should have 10+ years of HCM Solution Architecture experience delivering complex payroll implementations or support programs. along with deep command of the entire SAP HCM ecosystem, including seamless integration across all sub-modules. Strong SAP integration expertise is essential, as is hands-on experience in Canadian unionized environments. Additionally, the candidate must be adept at reverse-engineering legacy configurations to modernize and optimize existing systems. This will be a fully remote work setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reverse-engineer existing SAP configurations and undocumented business processes.
- Perform solution impact assessments and understanding cross-functional system dependencies.
- Apply strong blueprinting, solution design, architecture, and documentation skills.
- Serve as the SAP HCM Solution Architect for a complex and highly customized SAP HCM environment.
- Analyze existing SAP HCM configurations and reverse-engineer legacy customizations where documentation is limited.
- Understand end-to-end system interdependencies and identify the downstream ("ripple") impacts of configuration and development changes.
- Lead solution architecture, design, blueprinting, and functional solution development across the SAP HCM landscape.
- Develop comprehensive system documentation and help establish long-term institutional knowledge.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define future-state solutions and implementation strategies.
- Provide technical leadership across HCM workstreams and integration points.
- Support effort estimation, solution design reviews, and architectural governance.
- Identify opportunities to leverage AI and automation to improve processes, documentation, and operational efficiency.
- Mentor project team members and provide guidance on SAP HCM best practices.
