Job Description

Our Calgary based client is seeking an SAP HR Business System Analyst to join their organization on a permanent full-time basis. This will be a hybrid work setting with on-site work required. Candidates in Calgary area preferred.

  • The ideal candidate is an experienced Business Analyst, focusing on HR processes, SAP systems, and OpenText solutions. This role will bridge the gap between HR department, Engineering and Document Mgmt departments and IT systems, ensuring optimal use of technology to support HR functions and critical IS Corporate functions that rely upon an EDMS to achieve successful results and delivery of overall business solutions.
  • The Business Analyst should ideally have experience with document/content management using OpenText and and possess integration experience with Workday.
  • Excellent communication skills, adaptability, and a proactive approach to learning and problem-solving are essential.
  • SAP HR experience is mandatory.
  • Plan, oversee and direct daily activities of team members, monitor progress, identify barriers and recommend corrective actions.
  • Identify, define and research issues of potential strategic importance.
  • Serve as project coordinator on business-specific assignments to develop conceptual models for redesigning business processes.
  • Perform benchmark comparisons of business processes to external entities.
  • Establishes performance targets and measures.
  • Navigating and understanding interdependencies across multiple systems.
  • Ascertains business readiness for change to new business processes and/or technologies and identifies appropriate implementation measures.
  • May act as change agent and deliver training for the company through implementation of new processes, programs and technologies.
  • Analyze current HR and Information Management (IM) processes and systems, identifying areas for improvement and automation.
  • Gather and document business requirements for HR and IM-related IT projects to come up with design and implementation options and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with HR and IT teams to implement and optimize SAP HR / Workday modules. Manage and enhance OpenText document management solutions.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for systems and processes (functional specifications, runbooks, standard operating procedures).
  • Provide support to end-users on HR-related and OpenText based IT systems.
  • Conduct system testing and quality assurance for new implementations and updates.
  • Monitor system performance and recommend enhancements.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices in HR IT and EDMS solutions.
  • Coordinate and oversee service delivery with our IS Managed Services partner to ensure deliverables meet requirements, governance and compliance standards.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in SAP ERP, SAP HR, Workday and EDMS technologies with at least 8 years experience.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP HR modules, implementation processes and ERP processes and best practices as a whole.
  • Holds a strong understanding of HR and/or information management functional concepts Experience with OpenText document management systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Project management and agile delivery experience is preferred.
  • Certifications/designations in Six Sigma/Lean/Kaizen also preferred.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in CANADA.
