Our Toronto based client is seeking an experienced SAP IS-U Billing Consultant to join their project on a long term contract. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience with SAP Utilities along with project implementations in a consultant capacity or related roles. This will be a hybrid role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure and maintain billing-relevant master data, including rate categories, rate determination, operands, billing schemas, and installation facts, ensuring accurate calculation of utility charges based on complex tariff structures.
- Execute and monitor periodic billing cycles, managing mass billing runs, billing orders, invoice printing, and exception processing, while troubleshooting errors and ensuring timely and accurate customer invoicing.
- Manage budget billing processes, including advance payment calculations, installment plan configuration, periodic billing adjustments, and reconciliation of actual consumption against budgeted amounts.
- Handle billing reversals, corrections, and adjustments, processing retroactive billing, rebilling scenarios, mass corrections, and reversal runs triggered by regulatory changes, meter reading corrections, or data inconsistencies.
- Integrate billing processes with upstream and downstream modules, ensuring seamless data flow from device management (meter readings) and CRM (contracts, move-in/move-out) to FICA (financial contract accounting) for dunning, collections, and payment processing.
- Participate in system testing and user training, executing unit testing, integration testing (SIT), and user acceptance testing (UAT), documenting test results, and training end-users on billing transactions and reporting.
- Provide post-go-live support and continuous improvement, resolving billing-related incidents, optimizing billing performance, implementing change requests, and supporting regulatory updates or new tariff rollouts.
