Our Ontario based client is seeking an experienced SAP IS-U Billing Functional Consultant to join their project immediately and will run for 1 year with possibility of an extension. The ideal candidate should have 8+ years of SAP IS U S4/HANA functional experience, with strong hands on configuration expertise in SAP IS U Billing, including residential, Time of Use (TOU), complex rate structures, and electric utility billing. Additional experience includes interval data, SAP EDM integration, installation facts, installation groupings, billing determinants, un-metered billing (streetlights and similar services), rate comparison, and billing simulations. Knowledge of regulatory rate implementation and utility compliance requirements. Exposure to SAP IS-U Device Management and Customer Service processes and experience with large-scale utility transformation or modernization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, and maintain various rate structures including: Residential rates, Commercial rates, Time-of-Use (TOU) rates, Seasonal rates, Multi-tiered and complex rate structures.
- Configure and support SAP IS-U Billing processes for electric utility operations.
- Support complex billing scenarios utilizing interval consumption data from SAP Energy Data Management (EDM).
- Configure and support installation groupings and billing determinants.
- Support un-metered billing processes, including street lighting and other non-metered utility services.
- Analyze and troubleshoot billing exceptions, validation issues, and rate-related defects.
- Support rate comparison processes and billing impact analysis.
- Collaborate with business teams to gather requirements and translate them into functional designs and SAP configurations.
- Participate in solution design workshops, testing activities, defect resolution, and production support.
- Work closely with EDM, Device Management, Customer Service, and Technical teams to ensure seamless end-to-end billing processes.
- Support regulatory and business-driven rate changes and billing enhancements.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex billing issues and provide functional solutions.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience supporting regulated utility environments is highly preferred.
