Our Ontario based client is seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Data Governance Manager to join their team on a full time permanent basis. The ideal candidate will combine deep SAP Data Governance expertise with strong leadership, delegation, and process improvement skills to drive impactful change. Will be responsible for developing and enforcing data governance policies, ensuring data quality and integrity across SAP systems and leading a team of data specialists. This will be a hybrid role with 1 - 2 days of on-site work required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess current data governance challenges and gaps, including inefficiencies in existing leadership and team performance.
- Lead and mentor a small data team (2 clerical reports), instilling accountability, ownership, and execution excellence.
- Audit, redesign, and implement robust data governance processes aligned with best practices.
- Manage budgets responsibly, aligning data governance priorities with company resources and scale.
- Collaborate with external and internal stakeholders on ongoing data cleansing and governance projects.
- Strong leadership and delegation skills with a track record of turning underperforming teams into high-functioning units.
- Ability to implement and enforce policies while navigating business unit dynamics.
- Experience auditing and redesigning processes to improve efficiency and data quality.
- Comfortable in a mid-sized, family-owned company environment—adaptable and pragmatic.
