Job Description

Our Canadian based client is seeking an experienced SAP PI/PO to Development Lead to join their project starting immediately and will run for 12 months. This will be a Hybrid work setting, with occasional on-site work required.

  • The SAP PI/PO to BTP Integration Suite Migration Specialist will lead the migration of SAP PI/PO interfaces to SAP BTP Integration Suite.
  • The role involves planning, executing, optimizing, and validating migrations while ensuring business requirements are met.
  • The specialist will collaborate with stakeholders, design scalable solutions, and provide post-migration support to ensure a seamless transition.
  • At least 7+ years of experience in SAP PI/PO development and administration.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience working with SAP BTP Integration Suite or equivalent cloud-based integration platforms.
  • Strong experience with SAP PI/PO, including ICOs, mappings, adapters, and configuration.
  • In-depth knowledge of SAP BTP Integration Suite components such as Cloud Integration (iPaaS), Open Connectors, and API Management.
  • Proficiency in integration protocols (IDoc, SOAP, REST, OData, SFTP, etc.) and security standards (OAuth 2.0, TLS, certificates).
  • Hands-on experience with Groovy, JavaScript, and XSLT for data transformations.
  • Experience in planning and executing migration projects, including risk assessment and dependency management.
  • Ability to analyze technical debt and optimize middleware logic.
  • Familiarity with SAP Cloud Transport Management and monitoring tools such as SAP Cloud ALM.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to work with technical teams, business users, and external stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a focus on delivering scalable and reliable solutions.
  • Planning and Strategy:
  • Conduct assessments of existing SAP PI/PO interfaces, including Integrated Configuration Objects (ICOs), mappings, and dependencies.
  • Develop a comprehensive migration strategy and roadmap aligned with best practices and project timelines.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and address business needs.
  • Migration Execution:
  • Migrate PI/PO interfaces to SAP BTP Integration Suite using tools like SAP Migration Assistant.
  • Redesign and optimize complex interfaces to align with cloud-native architecture, ensuring scalability and performance.
  • Implement connectivity protocols (e.g., IDoc, RFC, SOAP, REST, SFTP) and configure security mechanisms (OAuth 2.0, certificate-based authentication).
  • Development and Optimization:
  • Develop reusable components, including error-handling mechanisms, logging templates, and retry frameworks.
  • Convert legacy mappings (e.g., Java mappings) into Groovy or XSLT scripts as required.
  • Optimize middleware logic by shifting non-core functionalities to S/4HANA or other backend systems.
  • Testing and Validation:
  • Conduct unit, functional, and performance testing to ensure accuracy and reliability of migrated interfaces.
  • Perform parallel testing to validate output consistency between PI/PO and Integration Suite systems.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot issues during the migration process, leveraging SAP Cloud ALM and runtime tools.
  • Post-Migration Support:
  • Provide Hypercare support during the transition to production.

Job Requirements

  • Experience in large-scale migration projects and phased deployment methodologies.
  • SAP Integration Suite certifications or SAP PI/PO certifications are a plus.
