Our North American based client is seeking an experienced SAP PP and Variant Configuration Lead Architect to join their project immediately and will run for 6 months, with possibility of an extension. The ideal candidate should have expert knowledge of the Advanced Variant Configuration engine in S/4HANA, including syntax and data modeling techniques, as well as hands-on experience building complex configurable products, setting up characteristics and classes, and assigning them to Bills of Materials (BOMs) and Routings with integration experience to OTC. This will be a fully remote work setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build complex configurable products by setting up characteristics and classes, and assigning them to Bills of Materials (BOMs) and Routings.
- Integrate SAP Order-to-Cash (OTC) processes for order entry with Fit-to-Product (FTP) processes to support assembly and material requirements planning.
- Master Object Dependencies (OD), including creating and debugging Constraints, Procedures, Preconditions, Actions, and Selection Conditions to drive product logic.
- Utilize simulation tools to troubleshoot complex configuration errors and ensure smooth functionality in the S/4HANA environment.
- Apply knowledge of standard SAP APIs related to SAP AVC for integration and system enhancements.
- Translate business requirements into detailed, scalable technical models that align with operational needs.
- Leverage a deep understanding of manufacturing, sales, and supply chain processes to align AVC models with business workflows.
- Analyze and improve model performance to prevent slow configuration scenarios and optimize system efficiency.
