Our Calgary-based client is seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Group Reporting CFIN Analyst to join their project starting immediately on a 10 month contract with high potential for an extension. This role will support our clients upgrade infrastructure from an older S/4HANA version to a more up to date version. With the ideal candidate having extensive experience in S/4HANA Upgrade process 1809 to 2023. The position will be primarily remote, however, there will be travel expected to client sites during key project milestones.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze the delta between S/4HANA 1809 and 2023 (5 versions) for Group Reporting (GR) modules.
- CFIN experience is a MUST.
- Identify impacted functionalities (e.g., data models, consolidation steps, reporting templates).
- Advise on backward compatibility issues, deprecated features, and new capabilities (e.g., Central Finance integration, parallel accounting enhancements).
- Hands-On Configuration & Testing.
- Reconfigure Group Reporting settings post-upgrade (e.g., consolidation units, hierarchies, financial data models).
- Validate data migration for GR-specific artifacts (e.g., ownership structures, intercompany eliminations).
- Data Migration & Validation.
- Ensure seamless transition of consolidation data (e.g., opening balances, carryforward rules).
- Address custom code adaptations (e.g., CDS views, BAdIs) impacted by the upgrade.
- Stakeholder Collaboration.
- Train end-users on 2023 features (e.g., enhanced analytics, SAP Analytics Cloud integration).
- Project Phases & Travel.
- Remote work for most tasks, with on-site presence during:
- Blueprinting (finalize scope).
- Cutover & Go-Live (resolve critical issues).
- Hypercare (post-go-live support).
