Our Toronto based client is seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Core Finance (FI) Workstream Lead to join their project immediately on a long term contract. The ideal candidate should have 12 to 15+ years of total experience, including at least 8 years in SAP Finance and 4+ years leading a Finance workstream through go-live, with full-lifecycle S/4HANA Finance workstream lead experience across the complete finance scope—not a single module. Should also have deep knowledge of the Universal Journal and New GL, along with proven expertise in chart of accounts design at a multi-entity scale, as well as fluency in statutory and management reporting under IFRS, with particular depth in revenue recognition (IFRS 15). The role also requires demonstrated ownership of the finance-to-operational interlock, covering project or services postings, WIP, and revenue, alongside the ability to concurrently lead consultants, business SMEs, controllers, and an SI team. This will be a primarily remote work with minimal travel to the client office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead fit-to-standard workshops across the full finance scope; own gap disposition, design decisions and business sign-off.
- Own the Finance side of the Engagement Management interlock WIP, billing postings, revenue recognition and reconciliation, jointly with the EM workstream lead.
- Own the core financial design: chart of accounts, ledger and company code structure, document types, and the universal journal posting model.
- Own R2R end to end period close, intercompany, accruals, allocations and the close calendar.
- Own AP, AR, fixed assets and project accounting design, including approval flows and bank/payment integration.
- Own S/4 embedded finance reporting design and the boundary with the Reporting, Data & Analytics workstream.
- Manage workstream scope, plan, deliverables, RAID and SI team; represent Finance at Design Authority Council.
- Own finance data migration strategy, testing, cutover and the first close post go-live.
Preferred Experience:
- Public Cloud Edition; professional services or partnership environments; CPA or strong statutory accounting depth; SAP S/4HANA Finance certification; bilingual (EN/FR); Canadian statutory and indirect tax exposure (GST/HST/QST).
