Our Vancouver based client is seeking an experienced SAP Technical Lead to join their team on a full time permanent basis. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of SAP experience leading Development, Integration, and Basis teams, with at least 3 S/4HANA implementations. Ideally, they have an ABAP development background, have moved into a Technical Lead role, who can bridge discussions across Basis, Security, Cloud, and other areas. This position is primarily remote; however, 50–70% travel to Vancouver is required, and future travel could be anywhere in Canada.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze functional and non-functional requirements presenting custom solution options for addressing the gaps in standard functionality; associated complexity and effort estimates.
- Implement all development deliverables including development and integration strategies, technical specifications, code, unit tests, system integration testing and user acceptance testing.
- Input knowledge of building and coding solutions and frameworks ensuring adherence to software development lifecycle and SAP Clean Core development guidelines and standards.
- Collaborate with functional teams, architects, and project stakeholders.
- Design SAP innovative custom solutions that are based on best and/or leading practices.
- Ensure highest quality solutions using code reviews, technical and performance testing.
- Have practical experience with both waterfall and agile methodologies.
- Understanding of SAP's Rise Validated Methodology toolchain (Signavio, Cloud ALM, and LeanIX).
- Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership and advice to client counterparts.
- Must be able to operate on multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Must also be able to operate and lead multi-disciplinary teams.
- Must be able to present and lead client workshops on key technical topics. Be able to influence and/or convince leaders and decision makers.
- Communicate all solution design and concepts to implementation teams.
- Must be able to work both in a team environment and independently.
